Hawkeye

The hamlet of Hawkeye is nestled against the north-east edge of Silver Lake, in up-state New York. This quiet and out-of-the-way community has been a summer vacation destination since the mid-1800’s and still, most of the residents are seasonal employees of the Douglas Resort & Campground, or natives of New York city with summer homes along the lake’s eastern shore.

The year-round residents are those who keep up the homes and campgrounds; provide government functions such as the post office or man the Black Brook regional Police Station; or simply want a simpler life and can either meet a need of the community, telecommute, or are wealthy enough to just give up on productivity.
